Elk Lake Resort

Elk Lake Resort is known to the locals as a fun place to visit for a country drive in the summer, or over the frozen lake via snowmobile in the winter. The food home-style and amazing. The location is hidden and beautiful. It is not easy (well at least for most city-folk) to get to....20 miles down a dirt road from Island Park, ID. But is well worth the journey. For all of these reasons, we chose Elk Lake Resort as our wedding destination....er...wedding adventure, especially considering we actually live in northern CA. Half of our guests stayed with us at Elk Lake and the rest drove in from Island Park on the day of the event. The cabins are rustic and small. There is no TV or fancy features and your cell phone will not work. But you don't need any of that here. The surroundings are beautiful and the owners, Craig & Lerrina will treat you like family. We had our rehearsal dinner at the resort and breakfast every morning. All the food was delicious and hearty. If you go, you must have the pie! In fact, instead of wedding cake, we served pie as our dessert, all made by Lerrina, all spectacular. There was no stress in working with them to do everything we wanted for our event. If there was something we wanted that they didn't have (hay bails), they got it for us. On top of this being our wedding location, it is also where we got engaged, so it will always be special to us. We love it.

A beautiful spot! Crisp fall weather with blue skies and turning leaves. The scenery, service, and dining were wonderful!
